Twin air mattresses are a fantastic solution if you need a cheap bed for an out town trip or in case you have a guest staying overnight. They can be easily inflated and setup, then stored again when you no longer need them. Their flexibility is their biggest advantage and the fact that a twin air mattress can be put in the tiniest spaces. You simply won’t have trouble in finding some room to set it up.

There are many different inflatable mattresses and they vary in quality, durability and style. But there is one thing that is common to all of them – they are quite affordable. Most of them can be purchased under $100. That is a great advantage and it is often used I must say. It is true that these inflatable beds are not meant to be used for longer periods of time, but they definitely give a good value for your money. Especially if you buy a quality one.

Twin Air Mattress

When it comes to quality, the main thing you should pay attention to is that they do not break under the pressure. Sometimes it is easy to see if a certain twin air mattress is susceptible to holes by the materials he is build with and by the quality of production. Do not only rate them by the brand, take a look at it by yourself. If it looks like a low quality product, it probably is. Especially if you are checking one that is cheaper then others. Getting a discount air mattress is just fine, but cheap means trouble in the near future.

I want to mention that you can also find full, king and queen size air bed. They are a bit bigger and will take more space, of course. But if you need an inflatable bed for more then one person, do not choose twin size. It won’t be enough room for two persons and there will be bigger chance for product failure.

And when it comes to inflating, you will have the chance to choose from hand pumps, electric pumps or the good old fashion way – manually. Yes, there are some more affordable types that you will have to inflate by blowing into them. Since the difference in the price is really small, I suggest you take the one that has a handy pump. It will be much quicker to do it and you won’t get dizzy.

Coleman, Intex, AeroBed, Air King and Gentle Air offer a lot of good quality air twin mattress choices. Check out for some features like PVC vinyl, which will resist all allergens, the type of pump included, what kind of material covers the airbed (suede top, for example), what is the thickness and measurements so you can put a correct size sheets over it. Some manufacturers offer a three-ply cover that will resist a lot of sharp items that can make a puncture. But in case that happens, you can find a repair kit on Amazon.com or eBay.com and repair the damage.

Some of the more fancy inflatable mattresses will have a memory foam installed on top. This is something new and its a part of the world craze for memory foam. Personally, I didn’t find them any more comfortable, but that is just me. I find that a bit softer air bed suits me fine, I only do not have to put too much air in it. But have a blast and get yourself one with a foam topper on. You will find it under $100 on Amazon.
